What children become workaholics

There is nothing good about being a workaholic, say Buddhists :)Scientists from the University of Michigan, in turn, believe that workaholics are people who were deprived or lacked parental attention in childhood.

Scientists have identified three forms of workaholism and, accordingly, the reasons for its occurrence:

Type 1.A person simply earns a living, and the main part of his hobbies and interests lies outside the office.

Type 2.A person is focused on career, highly appreciates prestige and social status. They value themselves and those around them precisely by being on this social scale.

Type 3.The man has devoted himself and his life to a specific goal and mission, which has become his work. He is given to the idea and with its help is going to change the world for the better.

In the course of research that was tested by American scientists, the first conclusion to which they came:

- the attitude of parents to their work influences the perception of adolescents of “work” as a phenomenon in principle and, subsequently, forms their own attitude to work.

Further, scientists have found that, depending on whether the mother or the father suffers from workaholism, the child may have a completely opposite attitude to work:

- Children who see their father career oriented are likely to follow suit. If the family thinks about the career more mother - this is unlikely to affect the child.

However, the very nature of the relationship with the mother will affect the child’s attitude to work:

- Children who, as a teenager, had good contact with mothers, would rather treat work only as a way to make money.

And what if both parents treat work the same way? In this case, scientists believe, their attitude can be transferred to the child, under one condition:

- children oriented to vocation (type 3) most often grow in those families where both parents belong to the first or third type. Such children are more likely to follow their dreams, because their parents taught them to ignore the pressure of society.

And for dessert: the scientists also came to the conclusion that not only parents influence the attitude of children to work, but also children can change the attitude of their parents to work:

- People who are allowed to bring their children to the office show an increase in labor productivity, and their children, in the future, will most likely show the same zeal for a career.
